Our Story
An independent mortgage broker for self-employed professionals
Prosperity Lending provides home loans and commercial real estate loans for business owners and self-employed professionals.
Alejandro Szita, a finance guy, and Thisbe Ongania, an artist, formed the company after noticing that self-employed borrowers often run into challenges when applying for a mortgage.
Alejandro and Thisbe met in Los Angeles in 2009 and were married in 2012. Alejandro had started in mortgages in 2006 and later worked as a real estate agent for 10 years under a prominent West Side real estate broker. Thisbe spent 10 years at a marketing company while producing five albums as a jazz singer and songwriter and getting her music into films and TV shows.
In 2018, they decided to start their own company, Prosperity Real Estate Inc., a real estate brokerage focusing on self-employed clients on the West Side of Los Angeles. In 2021, they saw a strong need for mortgages and other real estate financing, and they added these to their services, renaming the company “Prosperity Lending.” Initial clients included fashion designers, a bass player and a trumpet player, and they soon expanded their client roster to business owners and self-employed professionals in a wide range of industries.
Prosperity Lending currently works with 13 different lenders to provide niche mortgage products for self-employed borrowers in California and Florida. Prosperity Lending provides top-rate customer service while keeping fees fair and providing the lowest rates we have seen in this segment of the market. For ultra-out-of-the-box loans, we offer in-house private lending.
Because Alejandro is also a licensed and experienced California real estate broker, the service is comprehensive. When needed, he assists clients with title issues, problems with tenants, property-related disputes and a wide variety of real estate issues.
Alejandro currently works as a solo mortgage broker with a team of 9 experienced mortgage processors and assistants. Thisbe takes care of marketing, promotion and internal administration—everything except the loans.
Alejandro and Thisbe consider that real estate is a powerful financial tool for self-employed professionals. They are committed to helping their clients weather any economic turmoil by owning their own home, investing in real estate and creating a buffer for uncertain times. In the next 10 years, they aim to be the No. 1 provider of mortgages for self-employed professionals in California and Florida.
“When we decided on the plan that suited us, he went into action and got things rolling quickly. I recommend Alejandro to anyone who needs an honest, dependable mortgage broker.”
